About Minnehaha Animal Hospital
At Minnehaha Animal Hospital, our mission is to ensure each pet has a healthy and comfortable life, and that
clients feel appreciated, supported and empowered to care for their pet.
We've been named the #1 Women's Choice by the Women's Press, 2006 through 2009. We pride ourselves on the
compassionate, quality healthcare we provide. We are distinguished by our team-delivered medicine, our
friendly and knowledgeable staff, and our gentle approach to pet care. For your convenience, we offer
evening and weekend appointments.
Minnehaha Animal Hospital believes in giving back to the community. We offer discounted exams and discounted
spays or neuters for pets adopted from any local rescue organization.
We are a member of the Animal Care Foundation. As a participating hospital, we provide limited free
medical care to the pets of qualified low-income, blind, and/or disabled people. To find out if you
qualify, please call the Animal Care Foundation at 763-529-5060.
We are also a collection site for the Pet Project. This organization was started to prevent unemployed
or struggling pet owners from having to give up their pets because they cannot afford to feed them.
Many people donate food and money to food shelves, but until recently there was nowhere for those
in need to obtain supplies for their pets. We collect food and supplies and their volunteers pick
up the donations and distribute them to local food shelves. The Pet Project accepts food for dogs
and cats, litter, bedding, any other supply that is pet-related, as well as donations of money.
We participate in and support the Field Regina Northrop Neighborhood Group as well as the South Chicago
Area Business Alliance (SCABA), which promotes business in and upkeep of the 48th Street and Chicago
Avenue area. Our thanks goes out to SCABA for brightening our holidays with plants and holiday decorations.
